Tornado Alley

The term Tornado Alley generally refers to the area that experiences a high frequency of tornadoes in the Central United States. Kansas, which sits directly in the middle of Tornado Alley, is very vulnerable to strong thunderstorms in the spring with are capable of spawning F3 or stronger tornadoes. The State of Kansas has reported more tornadoes, more than 50 annually, than any state except for Texas and also reports more F5 tornadoes than any other states.

The unpredictable weather that Kansas experience makes it extremely important for the State to have an effective and efficient emergency response plan for the potential natural disasters.
